About Delta Faucets

Essa kitchen faucet from delta

The origins of the current Delta Faucet Company lie with Alex Manoogian, the founder of Masco Corporation. In 1952, he released one of the first single-handle faucets that combined hot and cold water in a single spout. He named this invention the Delta Faucet, as the movement needed to operate the faucet resembled the Greek letter delta.

Over its nearly 70-year history, Delta has never stopped innovating and reimagining the modern faucet. For example, their Touch2O technology, introduced in 2011, allowed users to turn the faucet on and off just by touching any part of the spout. That same year, Delta introduced Touch2O.xt, which allowed for touchless activation. In 2019, the company went one step further with VoiceIQ, a feature that operates the faucet using commands via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

Beyond inventing new ways to use faucets, Delta is a pioneer in water conservation, magnetic docking, easy-clean coating, sturdy manufacture, and splatter reduction. The EPA presented Delta with the WaterSense Sustained Excellence Award in 2015 and named them a Sustained Excellence Award Winner in 2015, 2016, and 2017. The Delta Addison Lavatory Faucet with Touch2O.xtTM Technology was nominated for the 2012 Edison Best New Product Award, and various faucets have been named among the most innovative products of the year by different organizations.

Top Delta Faucets for Your Kitchen

Delta’s extensive catalog contains faucets designed to suit any level of budget and cooking expertise. Below are our recommendations for the top faucets in a variety of categories. Every faucet on this list features an eco-friendly flow rate of 1.8 gpm.

Delta Trinsic Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet in Arctic Stainless with Touch and Voice Control

The sleek curving silhouette of the Trinsic Pull-Down Faucet, combined with both Touch2O and VoiceIQ technology, makes it the perfect fit for almost every kitchen. The voice activation feature includes custom container commands and metered dispensing that ensures you always get the exact amount of water you need. And if you need to quickly turn the faucet on or off, simply tap anywhere on the spout or handle.

The pull-down spray wand extends 10 inches and snaps back into place with MagnaTite Docking. With DIAMOND Seal Technology, you can trust that your faucet will outlast the industry standard and be less likely to leak. The Trinsic Pull-Down Faucet also comes with an LED light that indicates the temperature the water is set to, eliminating surprises and giving you the right temperature for any use.

The same faucet style is offered at a more affordable price without the Touch20 technology.

Installation Requirements: 1- or 3-hole 8-inch installation, optional escutcheon, 6 AA or 6 C batteries, wall outlet under the sink

Available Finishes: Arctic StainlessChampagne Bronze, Matte Black, Chrome

Featuring one of the tallest arcs in the Delta collection, the Trinsic Pre-Rinse Kitchen Faucet is perfect for home cooks with commercial-sized, gourmet kitchen needs. The high-arc spring and gravity-fed pull-down spout give you a powerful, high-pressure spray to blast food residue off your dishes.

The faucet also features Touch2O Technology, allowing you to operate the faucet by tapping anywhere with the back of your hand or your wrist. The water automatically shuts off after four minutes, and the spray wand has a magnet embedded in the spout that docks the wand into place and prevents drooping over time.

The elegant Cassidy Pull-Out Kitchen Faucet offers a vintage look with modern features, perfect for a traditional, rustic, or modern farmhouse kitchen. Unlike other pull-out and pull-down faucets that lean into the contemporary style, this faucet’s classical style allows you to design a kitchen that stands out without sacrificing the innovation that Delta is known for.

The spray wand pulls outward from the spout, giving you control and flexibility, and features two spray settings. Like many Delta faucets, the Cassidy Pull-Out is made with DIAMOND Seal Technology that reduces leaks and facilitates easy installation. It is also protected by a Delta Lumicoat Finish, which repels liquids and prevents water stains with only minimal cleaning.

Available Finishes: Venetian Bronze, Champagne Bronze, Polished Nickel, Arctic Stainless, Chrome

Faucets in the Essa collection are modeled after European design principles but add a soft, modern twist. The faucet’s rounded curves and minimalist profile make for a lovely focal point without drawing too much attention or clashing with your other fixtures.

This faucet offers the best in Delta technology, coming equipped with both Touch2O and VoiceIQ. As a result, you can warm up the water, turn the faucet on or off, or even run the water for the proper length of time for handwashing without a single touch. However, if you would rather turn the faucet on without using voice commands, a single touch on the handle or spout is all it takes.

Available Finishes: Stainless, Chrome

For a faucet that offers all the functionality of a pull-out fixture without breaking the bank, look no further. This Foundations faucet features a pull-out spout with a 120 degree swivel, a massive 59-inch retractable hose, and an aerator—all at a price point suitable for almost any budget.

The Delta Warranty

Faucets used in residential settings have a limited lifetime warranty. All non-electronic parts and finishes of Delta products purchased from authorized Delta dealers are guaranteed to be free of defects for as long as the original purchaser lives in the house.

Delta will repair or replace any part or finish that proves defective under normal installation, use, and service. All electronic components have a 5-year limited warranty. Faucets used in multi-residential applications (condo, apartment building, etc.) have a 10-year limited warranty, while all other commercial uses are covered by a 5-year limited warranty.

How to Fix a Leaking Delta Faucet

Over time, your faucet with Touch20 will likely start leaking as minerals build up in the spout and prevent the touch feature from turning off completely. This is an easy fix, however. All you need is pressurized air and some vinegar.

If your touch faucet continues to run even when it should be off, remove the faucet and carefully disassemble it. Use the pressurized air to loosen and blow away any visible debris. Next, dip a cloth in the vinegar and gently clean the different parts. You can also place the parts in a solution of vinegar and water for a few hours if the buildup is particularly stubborn.

If this doesn’t stop the leak, there might be a defect with the materials. Reach out to Delta to discuss your options for repair or replacement.

Conclusion

Delta’s extensive collection offers options for any design taste and budget. From standard single- and dual-handle faucets to the absolute latest in touch and voice activation technology, Delta doesn’t disappoint. The many pull-out and pull-down options provide increased accessibility, and having multiple spray settings in a single makes washing dishes twice as easy.

All faucets are crafted with premier materials that have been tested for durability and performance and are covered by a comprehensive warranty. If you want a long-lasting, beautiful focal point for your kitchen, you can’t go wrong with Delta.
